Members of the Osier Lab have found themselves anguished, infuriated, and deeply saddened while watching the events of the last few months unfold. We mourn the loss of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, and recognize that their murders were not stand-alone events, but symptoms of a greater disease which plagues our country. We realize that it is our responsibility to educate ourselves and take action to combat the police brutality and institutionalized racism deeply ingrained within our society. 

 

Today, our members are signing a statement to pledge our donations, self-education, and full support to organizations that fight racial injustice. This statement can be found here–we urge you to sign and take action. With a diverse array of members, many of whom are people of color, women, and part of the LGBTQ+ community, we are forever indebted to black activists who have fought for our rights and freedoms. Today, and forevermore, we stand with the black community. Know that there is always a place for you within our family.
